About
Revered for her leading role as a village girl ‘Ganga’ in Subhash Ghai’s romantic-patriotic movie ‘Pardes’ (1997), Mahima Chaudhary shot to fame with this debut movie, earning rave reviews from critics and fans alike. Her role even won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
Mahima displayed her versatility as an actress through several of her roles in movies like ‘Daag: The Fire’ (1999), ‘Pyaar Koi Khel Nahin’ (1999), ‘Dhadkan’(2000), ‘Lajja’, and many more. Her role in ‘Dhadkan’ even won her the Sansui Viewers' Choice Movie Awards in the category of Best Supporting Actress.
Before Mahima stepped into Bollywood she was a VJ, also did a few modeling assignments, and appeared in several television commercials. She has also been a judge on several reality TV shows such as ‘Ticket to Bollywood’ (2014), ‘Jalwa Four 2 Ka 1’ (2008), and ‘Chhote Miyan’ (2012).
Besides her impressive debut and career, Mahima’s life is not just about glamour and glitz, but also the curve balls that life threw at her. Having dodged death twice, once in a tragic car accident and the other surviving breast cancer, Mahima’s indomitable spirit and take on life is truly commendable.

Mahima is the brand ambassador of SBI Life Insurance’s ‘Thanks A Dot’ campaign which aims to promote self-breast examination among Indian women to ensure early detection of breast cancer. Having survived breast cancer herself, Mahima has been at the forefront of raising awareness.
